Dear WID 2020 Participant

If you wish to cancel your room reservation for the World Irish Dancing Championships and have not already done so via e-mail, please forward cancellation in writing to  – cancellation requests will be accepted up to 48 hours prior to arrival.

We are working with hotels to determine cancellation policies, this will take some time to resolve. In the meantime all participants are being advised to contact your travel insurer as your insurance may cover all of your current outlay depending on details of your itineraryDear Guests,

We got news yesterday that the World Irish Dancing Championships has been cancelled for April 2020 due to the worldwide Covid19 situation. If you are visiting this site, it is most likely you will have a room reservation with us for this event.

All participants are being advised to contact your travel insurer as your insurance may cover all of your current outlay depending on details of your itinerary.

We are currently in negotiations with the hotels to ascertain their refund policies at this time. Some hotels may offer partial refund payments, some may allow reservations to be transferred to a new date and a number may hold us to contract conditions, in which case refunds may not be possible.

These negotiations are going to take some time, policy decisions are being made at head office level, in some cases at international level. A number of the hotel offices are currently closed as per our governments directive which will cause some delays, and while all our colleagues in all our hotels are working hard with us to process all requests as quickly as possible, we expect this to take a number of weeks so we ask you to bear with us as we navigate this difficult process.

Our own offices are also currently closed but be assured our team are working remotely via e-mail and will be in touch with you as soon as is possible.

We plan to revert to participants on a hotel by hotel basis and outline the options to participants in each hotel – as soon as we have a policy decision from each hotel we will contact those with reservations in that hotel, as such, some delegates may receive news before others. If you hear that participants booked in a particular hotel have had news and you have not, please do not worry or send further e-mails, we will get through each hotel as soon as we can.

We are sorry to be in this situation with you, these are unprecedented times, this is a worldwide crisis, affecting us all. We ask for your patience and support while we work through these issues on your behalf.

We send out our best wishes to all our participants at this difficult time and hope you and your families are safe and well.

Best wishes from Ireland

Best wishes,
